Three jobs

Organize it, protect it, make it more useful

A pickup bed gives you a lot of space, and that doesn't make it useful. Tools roll around, ratchet straps disappear, groceries slide to the cab, cargo scratches the floor and the painted rails get beat up. You don't need every accessory. You need the few that fix what bothers you, and we are happy to sell you a bed mat and a SwingCase if that is all the truck needs. For bigger storage, drawers, tool boxes and bed slides have their own pages.

“We’ll be taking all our cars here. Eric and his team just did the 3M protective film on our new Tundra. The front bumper and grill are not simple applications, Eric made sure to talk us through what to look for if any of the film isn’t holding and to bring it back in and he’d fix it for us. He also tinted the front windows and they’re a perfect match to the rest. Their prices are very competitive, but it’s the absolutely top notch customer service, communication, and workmanship that make it an easy decision to come back. We’ll be getting our tonneau cover for our truck bed, ceramic coating for our older with a lot of life in her SUV, and will start using them to detail our cars given our great experience and the fact that everyone else continues to have the same.”

Bed mats, drop-in liners and BedRug for different kinds of use

Some trucks haul lumber, firewood and dirty equipment. Others carry luggage, coolers and dogs. The protection should match. A drop-in liner covers more than the floor, depending on the product: the bedsides, the front wall and sometimes the tailgate, which suits a truck used hard. A vehicle-specific bed mat protects the floor where the bed takes the most abuse, adds grip so cargo slides less, and comes out when you want it out.

BedRug is a different surface altogether. BedRug makes it from polypropylene over closed-cell foam, says it grips cargo and is easier on your knees than a hard liner, and says you can hose it out or vacuum it like carpet. It suits camping trucks, topper builds, dogs and anyone who spends time in the bed. We source and install BedRug, WeatherTech, Husky, Dee Zee, Rough Country and other major brands, and offer both BedRug full liners and BedRug mats. We pick a drop-in liner by what is available for your truck, how it fits and your budget, rather than one brand.

Planning DECKED? Choose the liner with the drawers in mind

DECKED says plastic drop-in liners don't work with its Drawer System or CargoGlide, and the Drawer System doesn't work with a BedRug mat. If drawers or a CargoGlide could be in the truck's future, tell us before you choose a liner, and we will suggest bed protection that works with them.

Bed caps and tailgate protection for the edges that take the abuse

The top edges of the bed get tools set on them, lumber dragged across them and people climbing over them, and eventually the paint chips. Bed caps cover those edges in textured black, smooth or diamond-plate finishes, some with stake-pocket access. A tailgate mat or liner protects the surface every load goes over. If you would rather keep the painted rails visible, we can put paint protection film on the rails and bed caps instead.

Bed caps and tonneau covers can usually live together, but the cover's rails may clamp under the bed rail, sit along the inside edge or need access around the stake pockets. If you want both, tell us before ordering either one. We choose bed caps and tailgate protectors by what fits your truck rather than one brand.

Organize it

Swing-out boxes, MOLLE panels and cargo dividers

Not everybody needs a giant tool box. The UnderCover SwingCase uses the awkward space between the rear wheel well and the tailgate: pull the lever, swing it out over the tailgate, grab what you need and lock it back against the bed wall. RealTruck, which makes it, rates it at 1.5 cubic feet and 75 lb, with a key lock and a weathertight seal, and says it works under a RealTruck tonneau cover. It lists the SwingCase at $219.99 before installation (1 October 2026). We sell and install it, and it takes about an hour a side.

MOLLE panels put the bed walls, the front wall or the inside of a topper to work, with mounting points for recovery straps, a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher, lights and small bags. Cargo dividers and stops keep groceries, coolers and totes where you put them instead of against the cab. Removable organizers do the same job and come out when you need the whole bed. MOLLE panels, dividers and organizers come from whichever maker fits your truck and the job.

Make it more useful

Bed rails, tie-downs and bed extenders

Factory tie-downs are useful until they are three feet from what you are trying to strap down. Bed rails add tie-down points and attachment points, and on many trucks mount in the stake pockets without drilling new holes. Cargo tracks take adjustable anchors, cleats and cargo stops you can move from one load to the next. Ask yourself what you want to attach before you pick rails for their looks.

A bed extender holds long cargo over the dropped tailgate. AMP Research says its BedXTender HD Sport adds up to 2 feet of cargo space, works as a cargo divider with the tailgate closed and flips back into the bed when you don't need it. Bed rails, tie-down systems and extenders are all available, and we pick the brand to suit your truck.

Build the bed in layers

One product doesn't have to do everything. A work truck might end up with a heavy-duty liner, bed caps, a tool box, MOLLE panels, rails and a bed slide under a topper. A camping truck might run BedRug, a topper, DECKED drawers and cargo organizers. An everyday truck might need a rubber mat, somewhere for the ratchet straps and two better tie-down points.

You don't have to do it all at once. What matters is that today's choices don't block what you add next: a bed cap can change how a tonneau clamps, a tonneau can change which rails fit, and a drop-in liner can rule out drawers.

Installation

Fitted at our Arvada shop

Even small accessories aren't universal. Fit depends on the year, make, model, bed length, factory rails and tie-downs, the tailgate and the cover, topper, tool box or drawers already in the bed. We check the whole plan so the pieces work together.

1 · Confirm the fitWe check each part against your truck and against what is already in the bed.
2 · InstallMats and liners go in, caps and rails go on, and swing-out boxes, MOLLE panels and extenders get mounted.
3 · Check it with everything elseWe open and close the tailgate and the cover, and make sure nothing rubs, blocks a latch or covers a tie-down.

Most bed accessories take about 1 to 3 hours in our shop, depending on the accessory, and a SwingCase about an hour a side. Drop-off and pick-up hours: Mon–Fri · 8am–5pm.

FAQ

Common questions

What are the must-have accessories for a truck bed?
For most trucks, some kind of bed protection (a mat, a drop-in liner or BedRug) and a way to keep cargo from sliding (dividers, better tie-downs or a small organizer). Everything else depends on what you carry: a bed extender for long loads, a SwingCase for straps and tools, drawers or a slide for a bed that is full every day.
What is the easiest way to protect a truck bed?
A vehicle-specific bed mat protects the floor and comes out when you want it out. A drop-in liner protects more of the bed. BedRug suits recreational and topper trucks.
What's the difference between a bed mat and a bed liner?
A bed mat covers the floor. A drop-in liner can also cover the bedsides, the front wall and, with some products, the tailgate.
Can bed caps or bed rails work with a tonneau cover?
Often, but both use the top of the bed rail, and so does the cover. We check the combination before ordering either one.Tonneau covers →
What is a MOLLE panel?
A panel with a grid of mounting points for compatible bags, tools and recovery gear, so gear hangs on the bed walls or inside a topper instead of taking up floor space.
What does a bed extender do?
It holds long cargo over the dropped tailgate. AMP Research says its BedXTender HD Sport adds up to 2 feet and works as a cargo divider with the tailgate closed.
Can Ride N' Shine plan the whole truck bed?
Yes. Tell us what you carry and how you use the truck, and we plan the protection, organization, storage, access and cover together.Truck bed storage →
