Truck bed slides: DECKED CargoGlide and BEDSLIDE
Bring the bed to you. A sliding platform pulls your tools, coolers and gear to the tailgate, so you stop crawling in after the thing that slid up against the cab. We install DECKED CargoGlide and BEDSLIDE, both starting at $899.99 before installation, and help you pick the capacity and extension your truck needs.
The front of your bed shouldn't be a dead zone
The stuff you use all the time stays near the tailgate. Everything else gets pushed toward the cab until you can't reach it, and then you are climbing onto the tailgate, reaching over three things to get one, or crawling in on your knees. A slide changes that: open the tailgate, release the platform and pull the cargo to you. It matters most on work trucks that get into the bed 20 times a day, on camping and hunting trucks loaded to the cab, and on any truck with a topper, where the cap wall is in the way too.

DECKED CargoGlide or BEDSLIDE
Starting prices are the maker's current retail for the slide alone, checked 1 October 2026; installation is quoted for your truck. We usually start with CargoGlide because DECKED is one of our core storage brands and it works with DECKED drawers and the DECKED Tool Box. When a BEDSLIDE fits your truck or your load better, we will say so. We order BEDSLIDE through our distributor.

“You never know what you’re going to get when you google around, well I’m happy to say if you’re reading this you don’t need to search anymore! Professional, courteous, knowledgeable and a straight up pleasure to work with! Window tint…on point, ceramic coating…on point, ppf…on point, tonneau cover…great suggestion! I’m confident that you cannot go wrong here, they pride themselves on their work!”
“We’ll be taking all our cars here. Eric and his team just did the 3M protective film on our new Tundra. The front bumper and grill are not simple applications, Eric made sure to talk us through what to look for if any of the film isn’t holding and to bring it back in and he’d fix it for us. He also tinted the front windows and they’re a perfect match to the rest. Their prices are very competitive, but it’s the absolutely top notch customer service, communication, and workmanship that make it an easy decision to come back. We’ll be getting our tonneau cover for our truck bed, ceramic coating for our older with a lot of life in her SUV, and will start using them to detail our cars given our great experience and the fact that everyone else continues to have the same.”
Buy the capacity your load needs
You don't need a 2,200 lb slide for a cooler and camp boxes, and a light-duty slide is the wrong answer for a generator and a compressor. These are the current models from each maker. Where the maker says the rating is evenly distributed, so do we.
| Slide | Rated capacity | Extension | Worth a look for |
|---|---|---|---|
| CargoGlide 600 | 600 lb | 75% | Half the bed: coolers or tools on the slide, room for other cargo beside it |
| CargoGlide 1000 and 1500 | 1,000 or 1,500 lb | 75% or 100%, by model | Everyday gear and tools; 75% models of the right size fit on a DECKED Drawer System |
| CargoGlide 2200 | 2,200 lb | By model | Contractor equipment and heavy commercial loads |
| BEDSLIDE 500Go and 600 Slim | 500 and 600 lb | 500Go: sets front to rear in 3-inch steps | Camping gear and lighter loads; the 500Go fits 62 to 74 inch full-size beds |
| BEDSLIDE S and 1000 Classic | 1,000 lb (Classic: evenly distributed) | Classic: three-quarter | The middle of the range; the Classic has BEDTRAX T-slots |
| BEDSLIDE 1500 Contractor and 1500 Max Extension | 1,500 lb | Max Extension: full | Tools, parts and job-site equipment |
| BEDSLIDE 2000 Heavy Duty and 2000 Max Extension | 2,000 lb, evenly distributed | Heavy Duty: three-quarter; Max Extension: full | The heaviest work-truck loads |
Three-quarter extension is plenty for most trucks; full extension earns it under a topper
A three-quarter slide puts most of the load within reach of the tailgate and keeps the system simpler. Full extension brings the whole platform out, which is worth it under a topper, on a long bed, and on a work truck loaded and unloaded all day. BEDSLIDE's Max Extension models are full extension, and DECKED offers CargoGlide in 75% and 100% versions; its XL models add removable high sides.

CargoGlide on DECKED drawers or behind a DECKED Tool Box
DECKED says correctly sized 75% extension CargoGlides fit on top of a Drawer System, including the 1,000 and 1,500 lb models or two half-width 600 lb slides side by side; 100% extension and higher-capacity models do not. Small gear goes in the drawers, bigger cargo on the slide, and nobody climbs onto the raised deck to reach the front. CargoGlide also works with the DECKED Tool Box, so tools up front and a slide behind them is another option. We check the full setup for your truck before ordering.
A slide under a tonneau cover or topper
Both makers build for this. DECKED says the CargoGlide is slim for clearance under tonneau covers, caps and side-mounted tool boxes. BEDSLIDE markets the 1000 Classic for sliding cargo out from under a tonneau cover or cap, and lists its profile at 4.5 inches (7 inches on the 2000 Max Extension).
With a topper, a slide is one of the most useful things you can add: the cap wall is between you and the front of the bed, and the slide takes it out of the equation. Before ordering either product, tell us the whole plan, because rail location, slide height, cargo height and any tool box change what fits.
A Retrax and a bed slide: check the canister first
A retractable cover like a Retrax covers the bed while a slide underneath brings the cargo out, and it is a combination we like. The catch is the canister: it sits at the front of the bed and takes roughly 8 to 11 inches of bed length, depending on the cover and the truck. So before we pair them, we check the canister against the slide's length, the cargo height against the cover, and the rail clearance. Don't buy the two separately and hope they work together.
A slide costs payload and a few inches of height
It adds weight, and the slide's own weight counts against your truck's payload. It raises the floor by the slide's profile, which matters under a cover or cap. It improves access, not security: pair it with a tonneau cover, a locking topper or DECKED drawers if the cargo needs locking up. And the cargo on it is only as protected from weather as the cover over it.
A slide rated for 2,000 lb does not give your truck another 2,000 lb of payload. The truck's payload, GVWR and axle ratings always set the limit. DECKED also says CargoGlide doesn't fit trucks with a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch in the bed or over a plastic drop-in liner.
Bed slide installation at our Arvada shop
DECKED rates a CargoGlide install at 30 to 45 minutes with 4 to 8 holes drilled, depending on the bed length. A platform that carries hundreds or thousands of pounds has to be mounted square and clear of the tailgate, so that is what the shop visit is for.
A CargoGlide or a BEDSLIDE takes about 2 hours in our shop. Drop-off and pick-up hours: Mon–Fri · 8am–5pm.
