WEATHER GUARD truck tool boxes
Built for trucks that go to work. When the tools in the bed are how you make a living, the box has to lock, keep the weather out and put the right tool in reach at every stop. WEATHER GUARD makes saddle boxes, side boxes and steel drawers for exactly that truck, and we fit and install them at our shop in Arvada. We order WEATHER GUARD through our distributor. WEATHER GUARD doesn't publish retail prices, so we price each box for your truck.
A work-truck brand since 1960
There is a difference between someone who carries a few tools now and then and someone who opens the box ten times a day. WEATHER GUARD builds for the second person. The company started in 1960, builds its boxes in Crystal Lake, Illinois, and makes truck boxes, drawer units, shelving and racks for work trucks and vans. Its saddle and Lo-Side boxes alone come in more than 60 models for full-size, compact and low-profile trucks. So instead of asking which box looks good, we ask what the truck has to do every day, and build the storage around that.

One key for every box on the truck, or the whole fleet
WEATHER GUARD's current saddle and Lo-Side boxes use the 1KEY ULTRALOCK. It lets you run one truck box or an entire fleet from a single key, so a truck with a saddle box, two Lo-Sides and a PACK RAT carries one key instead of four. The lock has a six-plate tumbler that WEATHER GUARD says resists picking and bumping, and a bold red push button that shows at a glance whether the box is locked. That is a small thing until you are closing the box 20 times a day.
Lost a key? WEATHER GUARD sells replacements through Simply Keys, and you need the key code to order one, which is why WEATHER GUARD asks owners to register the box when it is new. We can help with that at install.
Saddle, side or drawer
WEATHER GUARD makes these in many sizes, so the right box depends on more than the model name on the truck. We confirm the part for your bed before ordering.

“You never know what you’re going to get when you google around, well I’m happy to say if you’re reading this you don’t need to search anymore! Professional, courteous, knowledgeable and a straight up pleasure to work with! Window tint…on point, ceramic coating…on point, ppf…on point, tonneau cover…great suggestion! I’m confident that you cannot go wrong here, they pride themselves on their work!”
“We’ll be taking all our cars here. Eric and his team just did the 3M protective film on our new Tundra. The front bumper and grill are not simple applications, Eric made sure to talk us through what to look for if any of the film isn’t holding and to bring it back in and he’d fix it for us. He also tinted the front windows and they’re a perfect match to the rest. Their prices are very competitive, but it’s the absolutely top notch customer service, communication, and workmanship that make it an easy decision to come back. We’ll be getting our tonneau cover for our truck bed, ceramic coating for our older with a lot of life in her SUV, and will start using them to detail our cars given our great experience and the fact that everyone else continues to have the same.”
Locking and weather-resistant, for tools that make you money
A stolen cooler ruins your weekend. A stolen set of professional tools can ruin your week. WEATHER GUARD pairs the 1KEY lock with rotary latches and heavy lids, and on PACK RAT with heavy-gauge steel. That makes the box much harder to get into. We don't call any tool box theft-proof.
For weather, the current saddle and Lo-Side boxes use precision-fit weather stripping and an ARMOR TUF powder coat on the finish. On a Front Range truck that means snow, rain, mag chloride road grime and job-site dust. We describe the boxes as weather-resistant, not waterproof.
A saddle box and two Lo-Sides: building a work truck, not selling a box
WEATHER GUARD makes sense when the job needs more than one box. A common layout is a saddle box behind the cab for bigger tools and two Lo-Side boxes along the rails for the things you grab all day, with the middle of the bed open for pipe, conduit or lumber. From there a truck can add a chest, underbed storage, a PACK RAT drawer or a headache rack; WEATHER GUARD's headache racks are made to work with its saddle boxes, low-sides and gull-wings. Tell us what you carry and how often you reach for it, and we will work out where each thing should go.
Running more than one truck? The same layout and one key across every truck keeps a fleet consistent. We quote repeatable work-truck packages for fleets: we build one truck right, then repeat the spec across the fleet, with tool boxes, Lo-Sides, bed storage, lighting, steps and hitches as the work needs.
WEATHER GUARD or DECKED: different strengths
We sell both, and one isn't better. WEATHER GUARD is where we go for trades, commercial trucks, fleets, multi-box layouts and steel drawers. DECKED is our first recommendation for a truck that works during the week and goes camping or hunting at the weekend, and its Tool Box is composite rather than metal. The tool box page compares DECKED with a traditional box side by side.
Fit, and the rest of the bed
WEATHER GUARD tells owners to measure the bed length, width and height and to check for obstructions before choosing a box, because "I have an F-250" isn't enough to pick a size. Send us your year, make, model and bed length and what is already in the bed. If a tonneau cover, topper, gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch is on the truck or in the plan, tell us now; the tool box page covers how each one changes the choice.
Limited lifetime warranty on WEATHER GUARD truck boxes
WEATHER GUARD covers its truck boxes with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. Terms can differ across its other products, so we confirm the coverage for the exact part before you buy. Ride N' Shine's workmanship is warrantied by Ride N' Shine.
Installation at our Arvada shop
One saddle box is a short job. A multi-box work truck takes planning first, and that is most of what the shop visit is for.
A saddle box takes about an hour in our shop, and a saddle box with two Lo-Sides about 2 to 5 hours, depending on the truck and the setup. Drop-off and pick-up hours: Mon–Fri · 8am–5pm.
Add it to the same visit
One drop-off, one pickup. These go on alongside this service.
